About PVC Fencing

Some History

The PVC fencing industry was started in the early 1980’s by PVC pipe manufacturers. Unfortunately, many of these PVC pipe manufacturers used the same pipe formulation to make PVC fencing with little success, as a result the destructive ultraviolet (UV) light caused the fencing to break down in the sunlight.
Some of the pipe manufacturers responded to these early failures and developed a more advanced technology. PVC extruded for use in the fence industry has a different composition, or recipe to the PVC used in the other industries such as piping, gutters, barge board, furniture, etc

How is PVC made?

The major raw materials used to make PVC resin are all natural – crude oil, natural gas and salt. Ethylene gas is made from crude oil and natural gas; Chlorine gas is made from salt. These gasses are then chemically reacted to form ethylene dichloride (EDC). The EDC is heated to produce two gasses: hydrogen chloride (HCl) and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM).
The VCM is then converted to PVC resin by means of a chemical reaction called polymerization.
The PVC resin is then blended with additives such as UV inhibitors, impact modifiers, stabilizers and pigments to produce PVC for fencing.

Fendeck PVC Fencing

Benefits of Fendeck PVC Fencing

PVC fencing is a popular choice for residential and commercial properties because it is relatively low maintenance and can be an attractive, durable alternative to traditional wood or metal fencing. PVC, or polyvinyl chloride, is a type of plastic that is strong and weather-resistant, making it a good material for fencing.

Fendeck PVC fencing is made from high-quality, UV-resistant PVC and is designed to withstand harsh weather conditions. It is available in a variety of styles, including picket, privacy, and semi-privacy designs, and can be customized to meet the specific needs of the property owner.

One of the main advantages of PVC fencing is that it requires very little maintenance compared to wood or metal fencing. It does not rot, warp, or rust, and it does not need to be painted or stained. This means that it can retain its attractive appearance with minimal effort, making it a convenient and cost-effective choice for those looking to add fencing to their property.

Overall, Fendeck PVC fencing can be a good option for those looking for a durable, low-maintenance fencing solution. It is important to carefully consider your specific needs and budget when deciding on the best fencing option for your property.
